At the time I bought this guitar, all my friends had entry guitars also ( squiers etc.) and this was the best of them all. Perhaps I was lucky but it seems to me and ideal beginner axe. Well, I *LOVE* this guitar. This is no longer my first guitar but I cannot get rid of it. Only that my other humbucker equipped Les Paul (a very good Epiphone Les Paul Custom, read my entry in this list) sounds *MUCH* better. I've been tempted to sell it, but bearing in mind that this babe is a fun to play and is now in a very good shape once made all the transformations previously cited, I think I'm gonna keep it and install P-94 to get another type of sound. If it weren't so good feeling, I wouldn't invest more in new pickups than what it cost me brand new!. I'm also fiddling with the idea of attaching a Bigsby to go the Neil Young way but... who knows, lessee how it sounds with the P-94, but I foresee that it will be a killer!. I give it a 10 not because it is intrinsically a 10 but definitely it's a 10 for me!. I've had two guitar teachers so far, the first was surprised with her feel, the second wanted to buy it from me!
I didn’t know what to do about it. It is a big joke for me how each one doesn't expound upon a multifarious sphere of activity like this. This is how to actually see Epiphone guitars for yourself. More About My cool Epiphone
The guitar comes with 22 jumbo frets, two uncovered humbuckers and the usual les paul arrangement of knobs and switches. The rhythm/lead switch and tone controls allow for a wide range of tone and sounds, ranging from warm rhythm to squealing lead.
The neck is nice and straight, but the fingerboard does have a few marks. However, it feels good to play, and the unplugged sound is great due to the high resonance of the surprisingly thin body.
The one surprising thig was the weight. Having handled previous Les Pauls, this was something of a surprise. However it is well balanced, and feels good when playing with a strap.
The guitar was supposed to come with a free strap and lead, but as of yet (5 months after buying it) it hasn't appeared.
I had disbelieved that I would not take a wiser route. Did I do the right thing. Do you get the picture. This drives me insane. You need to demand the best from Epiphone guitars every day. Here's the point: Time is not on my side. I just thought I'd ask some of my Emperor Joe Pass friends if they would care to take a stab at EJ-200CE Elvis Presley. With this recent news Flamekat Limited Edition is more important than ever. I’m going to end this story here. I'll go out there and try to follow these steps. It just happend to pop up on me. My New Epiphone
My styles of music are blues and classic rock a la Led Zeppelin. I'm using it with an Ibanez TS-5 into a fender princeton 65. This is the sweetest sounding guitar I've ever played. I used to own a mexican fender strat, and I traded it in for this guitar. It's not noisy unless I turn up the gain, but it's not that bad. The bridge humbucker starts feedbacking when my amp's volume is around 4 or 5 unless I put my hand over it. You can't get much variety in sound, just classic les paul tone. I love it.
